December COVID-19 Updates

December 2020

Learning Center

On Tuesday, December 15, 2020, a joint Christmas Kids Event was given by the Williamsburg Presbyterian Church, Kingstree United Methodist Church, and the Learning Center. The children each sang a song or recited a poem to the Sisters to get a Wish List gift from the Sisters. In another activity, the children participated in an interactive Christmas Story and received a bag of toiletries and fast food gift card. Santa came, heard their wishes, and gave each child gifts from both churches. The children also received a bag of groceries and were sent home with a pizza. Even the parents/guardians received a gift of $100 from the Felician Sisters of North America supplemental COVID fund to help with additional needs during the pandemic. All were surprised and truly thankful for all of their gifts.

Food Pantry

An average of 85 pre-filled bags, $20 gift cards, or ham and a $10 gift card were distributed each week at Felician Center. Everyone involved wore masks for each distribution.

Donations of canned goods and toiletries from churches, schools, and individuals arrived throughout the month for the Felician Center.

Clothing Closet

Sales of new toys, underwear, books and jackets (donated by the Knights of Columbus) were held Dec. 4 and Dec. 11 at Felician Center. To help with the COVID expenses, a free raffle was held on December 11 for customers who shopped in December. The prizes were four wallets, each with a $25 gift card, and one prize of a turkey dinner. Each was graciously received by the winners.
