August Moment
In August, we cherish the memory of St. Clare of Assisi, the first Franciscan woman and “little plant” of our Holy Father Francis. She died on August 11 in the year 1253.
What a great laudable exchange: to leave the things of time for those of eternity, to choose the things of heaven for the goods of earth, to receive the hundred-fold in place of one, and to possess a blessed and eternal life.
– St Clare’s First Letter to St Agnes of Prague
