A Time For Giving Thanks

During November the children have the tradition of doing for others.  November 18th was no different.

The event began with the children, along with assistance from their parent/guardian, picking pecans from the pecan tree outside from the Learning Center.  The pecans will be sent to Felician Sisters, families and friends up North.

Inside the children watched a short video about OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD.  Sister Susanne explained the importance of each of us giving back to others for all the blessings we have been given.  Each child then filled a shoebox of fun and useful items to be given to a needy child someplace in the world as part of the OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD program.

With the help of their parent/guardian, each child worked on an activity that listed what they were thankful for.  The list they made could be used as part of their prayer at their Thanksgiving meal at home.

Before leaving, each child received a bag of fruit to be shared with their family.

The children and adults were all grateful for the opportunities the Sisters provide, not just for this event, but for our community year round.
