Sisters Receive Donations

It is customary for church groups to minimize activities during the summer months.  But Jeffrey Lippert, Larry Berry and Ken Hien, leaders in the Knights of Columbus Council spearheaded a parish drive to collect items for Felician Center, Kingstree, SC.  On July 22nd, a group of 14 volunteers from St. Michael parish delivered a UHaul of donated items from the church.  Approximately 6,500 food items were delivered.  In addition there were cases of diapers, new shoes, Bombas socks, new clothing as well as used clothing that refilled both the Food Pantry and Clothing Closet with much needed items.

Since schools in Williamsburg County begin August 1st as part of the year round academic year, the new shoes and new clothing were especially needed for back to school.  Monies that might have been used for food have been diverted to back to school costs and so the food for the pantry was most appreciated.

At the beginning of July, The Waters Group, Greenville, SC donated approximately 3,000 2025 new t-shirts, new sweatshirts, leggings, new sweat pants, water bottles to add to the restocking of the closet.  Some of the cases were delivered and donated to Kingstree Senior High School for their emergency clothing closet. Jeffrey Panther, Felician Center volunteer and Properties Manager, drove to Greenville to pick up the donated items.

Sister Carol and Sister Johnna received the donations and were especially grateful to the volunteers that helped to unload the treasures.
