Mary Lisa McGill, chairperson, and the dedicated FCI board members in person and with zoom participated in some very important discussions and reporting on many issues at the spring board meeting. The FCI discernment plan developed by Andrew Bartell, FSI Mission from Chicago, Joe Waters, FCI Mission Leader and Jean Nexsen, FSI local Mission chair included 5 discernment reflections and questions for board members to contemplate during the Lenten season. The board members offered positive, heartfelt, and uplifting reflections from their prayer so that the future of Felician Center will flourish for generations to come.
Reports on Corporate Compliance by Sister Paul Marie, Institutional Advancement by Virginia Jonte, Programs by Sharon Galloway and Building and Properties by Sister Johnna were delivered. The Finance Chair, Sister Susanne, presented the FY2026 Budget, for approval. A new policy was also approved.
Additional discussions regarding website and Facebook updates, FSI updates, strategic planning review and a movement to attract additional volunteers was shared.
After the meeting adjourned, an APPRECIATION luncheon was held for board, staff, and volunteers. Mary Lisa McGill, Sister Carol and Roberta Duck organized the barbecue lunch for the guests. An acknowledgment of three volunteers who together represent 100 years of service was presented. Sister Johnna recognized Betsy Gordan, Sister Carol recognized Jean Nexsen and Sister Susanne recognized Salley Jenkinson (in absentia). Each was presented with a framed description of a volunteer.
Every person at the luncheon deserved to be recognized for the dedication, joy, compassionate Christ-like ministry each offers. Anyone who had a birthday closest to May 18, feast day of St. Felix received the table flower. Mugs with the prayer of St. Francis was also gifted to all the guests.
