Sister Paul Marie Baczkowski and Sister Denise Marie Jaworski drove a filled up van to SC on August 11th and stayed through August 19th. Their routine volunteer work included stocking the Food Pantry, assisting with mailing for an upcoming Barbecue Benefit, signing Christmas cards and unloading the van of household items. Since both Sisters needed to move due to the closure of the parish church and convent, beautiful glassware, kitchen items, seasonal items and more were in excess and brought to Kingstree for distribution.
Sister Paul Marie, FCI Board member, participated in the board meeting delivering a Corporate Compliance report. Sister Denise Marie joined the Board and other volunteers for the Discernment workshop sharing their presence and insights as part of future planning.
Both Sisters assisted with a Game Night for the International children from St. Ann Church. Children rotated through stations playing UNO, Shuffleboard, Lett, Right, Center and Ring Toss to win tickets to redeem for prizes. At the conclusion, the children took home Pizza Hut Dinner boxes to feed supper to their families.
Sharing prayers, meals and playing cards with the Kingstree Felicians is always a community experience all look forward to each year.
