On Wednesday, January 28th, the children attending the Felician Center Learning Adventure Program had a taste of the extremely cold SC weather and some wildlife learning.
Upon arrival, the children sipped some hot chocolate and ate sweet treats before a live animal program sponsored by Lynches State Park. The educational instructor detailed eating patterns, habitat and physical features of a turtle, snake, and alligator. The children had the option to touch the animals with respect.

Afterwards, the children read and copied a poem about snowmen and created some winter crafts to take home. Another poem was about bears and how they hibernate.
At the conclusion of the session, the children received a huge gift bag with warm knitted hats made by the women of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, N Myrtle Beach, sleeping bags from benefactors from St. Michael Catholic Church, Garden City, SC, new bed pillows with pillow cases, and chicken noodle raemen soup from the food pantry to cozy up at home.
