Barbecue Benefit and Shoe Festival

Local benefactors of the Felician Center were invited to a Barbecue Benefit on October 5, 2023. The benefit sponsored by the Felician Center Board members was to provide funding for the upcoming Shoe Festival. The elderly oftentimes suffer from sore feet and aching backs due to cheap shoes.

Over 200 pairs of brand name shoes with good arches and support were purchased for the Shoe Festival. The elderly 50 years and older with a Williamsburg County ID were invited to pick out a NEW pair of shoes on October 6. Each also received a new pair of donated BOMBAS socks donated from outside benefactors. Over 100 participated. The remaining shoes are available for purchase at $5.00 a pair on October 13 with a two pair limit.

It was gratifying watching folks try the shoes and wear them home commenting on the comfort. There were lots of HAPPY FEET in Kingstree and thank you to all the benefactors who helped.
