Earth Day 2025

In anticipation of the global celebration of EARTH DAY on APRIL 22nd , the children in the Learning Adventure Program were engaged in some meaningful activities.

Sister Susanne instructed the children about the growing of a seed, had the children decorate flowerpots while Sister Johnna planted zinnias with the children in the greenhouse.  The children expanded vocabulary and their understanding of “germinating”, “natural beauty”, and “requirements of water and sun” to nourish their seeds.

Afterwards, Sister Carol engaged the children in an art activity with “recycled” paper towel tubes used as stampers to make flowers.  She explained that the flowers were “asymmetrical” in nature as a new vocabulary word.

The beautiful spring day invited the children outdoors to enjoy the natural beauty of budding trees, growing wisteria, pesty carpenter bees, budding azaleas, and greenspace to exercise and to play with their friends.
