Pee Dee Deanery Visits Felician Center

On May 16th, 42 women from the Pee Dee Deanery (Conway, Florence, Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach, Pawley’s Island) Catholic churches made a pilgrimage to Kingstree, SC. The lively group of women were addressed by Jean Nexsen, Mission Integration chairperson, about the mission and core values of Felician Center. Mary Mann, St. Andrew parish, chaired and organized the pilgrimage.

The women made a tour of the facilities and Sisters Carol, Johnna and Susanne delivered an update on the services and activities of the Felician Center. The visitors were thanked for their involvement and support with food drives, clothing collections, gift cards, school supplies etc. throughout the year. Roberta Duck, Institutional Advancement, Co-chair and Claire Tejero, volunteer, assisted serving Subway box lunches to the guests. The visiting group passed around a box that collected $825.00 for the center’s needs.

Afterwards, the “pilgrims” went to Main Street to the Our Lady of South Carolina shrine and celebrated liturgy with Fr. Stanley Smolenski. The spiritual and corporal works of mercy came alive this day in May.
