Second Appreciation Event in South Carolina

As a legacy of the late Patti Waters, friend and benefactor, an APPRECIATION EVENT was held on May 1st at City Range Grill in Greenville, SC. The family of FCI mission leader, Joe Waters and wife Molly, Andy and Lindsey Waters, and Harold Waters sponsored the catered evening. The purpose was so that Sister Carol, Sister Johnna and Sister Susanne could personally meet, greet and thank as many benefactors as possible from the upstate that have blessed the People of God in Williamsburg County for nearly 15 years.

Serving as MC, Joe introduced FCI representatives:  Dr. Todd Beadle, FSI senior ministry advisor, Mary Lisa McGill, FCI board chair, Sister Paul Marie Baczkowski, FCI board member, Jean Nexsen, Mission Integration chair, Salley Jenkinson, Institutional Advancement and Sister Denise Marie Jaworski, frequent FCI volunteer.

Sister Susanne delivered a short history of the Felician Center association with the upstate. Jean Nexsen followed with the mission statement and core values of the ministry. Then the three Sisters described the programs and services of Felician Center including outside extensions e.g. Vital Aging, Kingstree Community Youth Group, Williamsburg Residential Facility, Operation Christmas Child.

After an evening of fine refreshments and appetizers, Sister Susanne expressed gratitude to the Waters family for hosting the event and to the guests for their ongoing support. The Sisters then made the promise to remember all in their daily meal prayer that says, “May it please you O lord to reward with eternal life, all those who do good to us for your name’s sake. AMEN.”

Joe Waters concluded the evening with “Pope Francis has described Assisi as a “prophecy of a more just and fraternal society”. I believe we can say the same about the Felician center and what we’ve seen for over 30 years in Kingstree I too see a prophecy of a more just and fraternal society. The Sisters have given you a sense of that this evening here in Greenville. Thank you for coming.”
