Easter Traditions

Another Learning Adventure was shared with the children of Felician Center. Both the Easter Bunny and the Resurrected Christ were part of the experience.

The tradition of the “holy story” of the 3 days leading to Easter was read by Sister Susanne. There was complete silence as the children listened to the Bible story with images of a real crown of thorns, and crucifix for the children to see and touch. This was followed by an upbeat DVD titled “EASTER SURPRISE” that included a sing-a-long including the Resurrection story.

Afterwards Claire Tejero engaged the children in a few crafts including decorating Easter eggs and adding flowers to a foam cross. Sister Carol led a bunny target game. Easter cookies were part of snack. Terry Jarka benefactor provided Easter eggs with $1 bills in each for the egg hunt. Easter baskets and kid friendly grocery bags were distributed at dismissal. With spring break ahead, kids miss out on the breakfast and lunch that schools provide.

In the holiness of Easter, in the beauty of the Spring, Easter smiles were shared.
