Kat Tisdale, Learning Center director, assisted by Monisha McCrae, a high school volunteer and former Felician Center participant, demonstrated some fun and delicious dishes as part of the Culinary Camp. Participants made mini corn dogs, stuffed muffins, and quesadillas. A bag of groceries with the ingredients to make the same dishes at home was given to each participant. Hand mixers, muffin pans and baking tools were some of the takeaways for each child at the camp.
Olio Studios provided creative watercolor and texture projects featuring sea creatures eg. crabs, jellyfish, squid to name a few. Salt, baking soda, vinegar, and vegetable oil were added to marbleize the pictures that were ready for a gallery. New vocabulary was learned through this experience as well as new techniques in working on framed canvases. Volunteers Gladys Laurie, Emma Miller, and Marian Wilson assisted.
